Funnel Hacking Checklist
A practical checklist for documenting a competitor funnel and translating observations into original hypotheses.
Before entering the funnel
- Define the market and offer category.
- Choose direct competitors and audience-overlap competitors.
- Create a notes sheet for each funnel.
Capture the sequence
- Traffic or entry source
- Landing-page promise
- Lead capture
- Sales mechanism
- Checkout
- Order bump
- Upsell/downsell
- Follow-up email or SMS
Separate facts from hypotheses
“There is an upsell” is an observation. “The upsell increases average order value” is a hypothesis until you have your own data.
Build ethically
Reuse principles, not protected words, images, branding, customer data or code. See funnel hacking vs copying.
